FindAMentor.org is a classified ad site building and providing a database of mentors and apprentices. You can place an affordable ad here to find a mentor or an apprentice (friend). Members are able to place five ads in different categories. We believe most people can be mentors in some aspect of life, whether your 20 and mentoring a sixteen year old in school or an executive mentoring a junior manager. Finding a mentor allows us to avoid making mistakes. We advise using many mentors. Finding an apprentice allows us to give something back to society and inspire healthy growth in someone willing to learn. A cycle of real life learning is created and our society flourishes.

If you want to coach and charge for your expertise, please say so in your profile. Your profile is like an ad in a newspaper classified section to find either a mentor or an apprentice. Profiles can be seen by all members at FindAMentor.org. If you join with a group ID, please note some corporate group ID's are restricted so workers can only see ads for their co-workers. When a member is searching the database and finds a profile they like, (some will search for mentors and some will search for apprentices) they will contact that member through our confidentail email service.
Are you looking for a Status Mentor or a Peer Mentor?
Have you considered some of the different types of mentoring? Peer mentoring and tutoring? Life process mentoring? Spiritual mentoring? Career mentoring? There are others.
Masterminding: Two or more minds coming together to achieve a common objective. Can be done in a group pow wow type setting, or internally, by one person calling five people separately, compiling the information by his or her self, and analyzing it to make the best choice for the moment. Masterminding is most effective with groups of four to six.
Status Mentor: People that have gained experienced in the same situation as me and have processed through it. They generally acknowledge themselves as my mentor in some aspect and can provide helpful insight.
Peer Mentor: People that are in a similar situation to me in some aspect. They have an intention to change themselves and their situation in some way. They could be almost anyone! We all have intention to change and grow. Sometimes time-frames and ideals and more may vary.
Silent Mentor: People that I admire, listen to, watch carefully and learn from, even though they may not be aware of it.

We believe that mentorship is most effective when given freely. Time requirements for mentoring an individual can be as much time as it takes to have lunch, once every month, two or twelve. When the time commitment becomes larger the role shifts to coach or consultant. We believe we get the most out of a mentoring interaction when many questions are asked. We suggest that both the mentor and apprentice answer questions that are asked as thoroughly as possible and finish their comment with another question.
When you want to begin your search for a mentor or an apprentice, you can use a free membership to place an ad and reply to emails recieved.
Members are encouraged to place an ad as a mentor and an apprentice. Our Networking booklet defines those roles. The cycle creates a ‘help each other community.’
We forward responses to your ads, so it is not necessary for you to give out your email address. It is the responsibility of the member to verify the authenticity of the mentor or apprentice they connect with.
